Privacy

What we collect, honestly.

Edvidi has no accounts, so there is no profile of you anywhere in it. Here is everything that does get stored, and why.

Your viewers are never tracked

Watch pages — the /w/… links you share — load no analytics, set no analytics cookies, and contact no third party about the person watching. If you send a link to thirty people, we learn nothing about those thirty people.

What a video stores

No IP addresses, emails, or device fingerprints are stored against any of this. Deleting a video deletes its questions, sessions and answers with it, immediately and permanently.

Analytics on this site

On our own pages — this one, the home page and the editor — we would like to count visits with Google Analytics, so we know whether anyone is using this thing. It is off until you say yes: decline and no Google script is ever loaded and no request is ever made to them. We turn off ad personalisation and Google Signals, and IPs are anonymised.

Your choice, right now:

Everything stored on your device

Not a sample — this is the whole list, and the last column is read from your own browser as you look at it. Turn analytics off above and watch the two Google rows change: we delete those cookies rather than just stop using them.

NameKindWhat it's forKept forOn this device
_gaCookie Google Analytics: tells a returning visit from a new one 13 months
_ga_CRDBJWWT0GCookie Google Analytics: keeps one visit's page views together 13 months
edvidi.consentLocal storage Your answer to the analytics question, so we stop asking Until you change or clear it
edvidi.mineLocal storage The “Your videos” list — your own edit links, kept on this device so you don't lose them Until you clear it
edvidi.vp.…Local storage A viewing passcode you already typed, so a locked video doesn't ask twice Until you clear it

The three edvidi. entries never leave your browser — they are not sent to us or to anyone else, and they are what makes the product work without accounts.

Those two Google cookies sit on your device for 13 months. What Google keeps on its own servers is a separate thing, and we set both of its clocks to the shortest it allows: the events for 2 months, and the identifier attached to them for 2 months. Neither clock restarts when you come back — they run from when the data was collected, and then it goes.

What we never do

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of anything held about you, or ask for it to be erased. In practice you already hold both switches: the edit link for a video lets you export or delete everything in it yourself, and declining analytics leaves nothing to erase.

If you would like a hand, email support@interakly.com. The data controller for this site is Interakly. We answer people, not ticket numbers.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page changes with it — and the analytics choice above resets, so you get asked again rather than opted in quietly.
